If your favourite aircraft is not available in Newsky there are few possible reasons for that.
In rare cases some aircraft add-on developers design them in such way that various important parameters cannot be read using simulators data interface. For instance lights states cannot be determined because they are either always on or always off. In such cases so far it was enough to contact the developer to fix these issues and we hope we'll never have to create a list of unsupported add-ons.
Newsky is a simulation of commercial airlines, operating in realistic conditions and only allows aircraft used by such airlines. Recently General Aviation and Business Jets were added to Newsky but condition of commercial viability still applies, therefore aircraft with no passenger capacity won't be accepted.
This is the most simple case: no one ever asked for this aircraft. We don't own every simulator and every aircraft ever released so please help us gather the required data for the aircraft you wish us to add. See below...
To submit new airframe please head to Newsky Discord server and create new post in airframe-requests
channel. In that post please include all required information described below and do your best to provide optional ones as well.
Gathering all information on new airframe requires knowledge and dedication. Poorly documented airframe request will be denied and removed! If unable to provide all the details please use
help needed
tag on your post.
To find ICAO and model use Aircraft Type Designators page
Dimensions and weights can usually be found in documentation provided by aircraft add-on developer or on Wikipedia
Following steps require data from the simulator. Please run the Newsky desktop application along with the sim where you have loaded the aircraft, next while holding CTRL key left click on round Newsky logo in top left corner of the app window. This will open Sim Data window and allow you to view data incoming from the sim.
Please provide what simulator this add-on is for, who developed it (with link to their product page if possible) and from Sim Data window the value of .aircraftInfo.simName
field.
For each flaps setting in the simulator note the corresponding .flaps.extension
value from Sim Data window. This part is required!
Example data for A20N:
1+F: 0.25
2: 0.50
3: 0.75
FULL: 1.00
Optional but very welcome: Determine using Internet or manuals provided by aircraft developers what are the allowed flaps settings for take off and landing.
